Angelo Magni’s Debut Album “Ruah” brings a soothing spiritual jazz.
NEW YORK, 8th May 2019 – ANGELO MAGNI is a New York based serial entrepreneur. Originally from Milan, Italy, Boston’s Berklee College of Music graduate (class ’00) he recorded Ruah after 20 years of musical silence but of eccentric business activity. The only shows he played during these years were international Jeff Buckley tributes. Ruah is a meditative, jazzy insight into Angelo’s spirituality. He recorded 6 original songs and 4 covers at the Bunker in Brooklyn, singing and playing piano and guitar, with well known jazz musician Shahzad Ismaily on bass/drums (Ceramic Dog, Lou Reed, Jolie Holland, Damien Rice and many more) and Marcello Allulli on saxophone.
This music is better listened to late at night, with a glass of wine. Think about listening to someone praying. Ethereal harmonies flow up and down and effortlessly bring crescendos with a smooth warm voice that seems to be whispering in your ears. Angelo sings of a relationship of gratitude and God-partnered walk through daily events and people met. Ruah is “the Breath of Life”, or “Holy Spirit” in the Christian and Jewish tradition. “Throughout the album I sing about how this spirit brings life, creates situations and ultimately teaches us how to be in touch and united with God” he explains.
Well this relationship with the divine has certainly brought him places. A pilot, he flew all over Europe sponsored by Bose. He built Italy’s first indoor skatepark (Trinity Skatepark), six coworking spaces (IF: Idea Factory), managed a resort for pilots (Ca’ Del Conte), produced a gadget to quit smoking, ran a modeling agency in LA, and is a volunteer on the Board of Directors of Mary’s Meals, an international charitable movement that feeds children in need. His latest venture is a chain of Italian restaurants called “I Love Panzerotti” which opened its first shop on the 8th of April in the Greenwich Village, New York. Basically a fried calzone, each panzerotto sold feeds a child in need.

L’album di debutto di Angelo Magni “Ruah” porta un rilassante jazz spirituale.
NEW YORK, 8 maggio 2019 – ANGELO MAGNI è un “imprenditore seriale” di base a New York. Nato a Milano, laureato alla Berklee College of Music di Boston (classe ’00) ha registrato Ruah dopo 20 anni di silenzio musicale ma di eccentrica attività imprenditoriale. Le uniche performance in questi anni sono stati i tributi internazionali a Jeff Buckley. Ruah è un’introspezione meditativa e jazzistica sul suo rapporto con Dio. Angelo ha registrato 6 canzoni originali e 4 cover al Bunker di Brooklyn, cantando e suonando piano e chitarra, con il noto musicista jazz Shahzad Ismaily al basso/batteria (Ceramic Dog, Lou Reed, Jolie Holland, Damien Rice e molti altri) e Marcello Allulli al sassofono.
Questa musica si ascolta meglio a tarda notte, con un bicchiere di vino. Sembra di ascoltare qualcuno che prega. Le armonie eteree scorrono e portano a crescendo con una voce calda e dolce che sembra sussurrare nelle orecchie. Angelo canta di una relazione di gratitudine e di partnership “divina” camminando attraverso eventi quotidiani e persone incontrate. Ruah è “il soffio della vita”, o “Spirito Santo” nella tradizione cristiana ed ebraica. “In tutto l’album canto di come questo spirito porti vita, crei situazioni e in definitiva ci insegni come essere in contatto e uniti a Dio”, spiega.
Questa relazione con il divino lo ha certamente portato in molti posti. Pilota d’aerei per passione, ha volato in tutta Europa sponsorizzato da Bose. Costruisce il primo skatepark indoor (Trinity Skatepark) in Italia, sei spazi di coworking (IF: Idea Factory), gestisce un resort per piloti (Ca ‘Del Conte), produce un gadget per smettere di fumare, gestisce un’agenzia di modelle “musicali” a Los Angeles ed è un volontario nel consiglio di amministrazione di Mary’s Meals, un movimento di beneficenza internazionale che nutre i bambini bisognosi. La sua ultima avventura è una catena di ristoranti italiani chiamata “I Love Panzerotti” che ha aperto il suo primo negozio l’8 aprile nel Greenwich Village, a New York. Ogni panzerotto venduto nutre un bambino bisognoso.
